Your residence eligibility is based on the following factors

Age
You must be 55 or below

Job offer
You must have a skilled job offer with an accredited NZ employer

English language
You must meet the minimum standard of English

Skilled Migrant Category(SMC)

The Skilled Migrant Category is one of the most popular categories of residence designed for skilled workers. You need a total of 6 points which could be comprised of:

⦁ Qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher) OR
⦁ Earn at least 1.5 times the median wage OR
⦁ Work in an occupation that requires occupational registration

Skilled work experience in NZ

You have the opportunity to accrue a maximum of 3 points for your work experience in NZ

Green list: Straight to residence

If your job offer falls under the Tier 1 Green List, you’re in luck! The Green List provides a direct and expedited route to residence, allowing you to fast-track your journey to becoming a New Zealand resident. If you work in one of these sectors, you may be eligible for a straight-to-residence pathway. Some of the key sectors include:

⦁ IT Professionals
⦁ Skilled workers in the construction industry
⦁ Business Professionals

Green list: Work to residence

If your job offer falls under the Tier 2 list of occupations’ you have a pathway to residence after 2 years of working in NZ. Some of the key sectors included on the Tier 2 list:

⦁ Civil Machinery Operators
⦁ Trades
⦁ Agriculture

Care Workforce and Transport Sector work to residence

Care Workforce and Transport Sector work to residence:

If you work in one of the occupations in a Care Workforce sector or a Transport sector, you may be eligible to apply for residence after 2 years of working in NZ. Occupations include:
